Jaylen Morton Taylor was born on September 27, 1998 in Louisville, Kentucky to Jeffery Taylor and Tareace Burchett. He was their only son..

Educated in the Jefferson County Public School system, Jaylen enjoyed playing football in his youth and continued to play for Central High School He was employed by O’Reilly Auto Parks.

Jaylen, affectionately known as JT, was full of love and light. He never played about his people. His loyalty ran deep, and if he loved you, he made sure you knew it. His heart was that of a lion—brave, bold, and fiercely protective yet he was sweet and gentle, with a spirit that felt like a warm hug.

His smile was unforgettably bright enough to light up any room and lift any mood. JT carried magnetic energy that drew people to him and made them feel like family. Headstrong like his father, he moved through life with confidence and determination. Once his mind was made up, there was no changing it. But beneath that strength was a man full of wisdom, cleverness, and undeniable charm. JT had a gift for words he could talk a good game, but he also knew how to listen, comfort, and advise with honesty and heart.

He was the kind of person you wanted in your corner loyal, dependable, and loving. Whether he was your friend, cousin, partner, or confidant, JT gave you his whole heart. And when it came to family, there was nothing he wouldn’t do.

JT was deeply protective of his father and sisters he didn’t play when it came to any of them. Anytime they needed him, he was there no questions asked. Always ready to pull up, always ready to support in any way. Their bond was filled with laughter, love, and a lot of playful competition, but everyone knew just how much they meant to him.

One of the most beautiful chapters of JT’s life was becoming a father to his baby girl, Elayna. She was his everything. He adored her with a love that ran deep. Gentle, attentive, and patient Elayna had him wrapped around her little finger, and it was the most precious thing to witness. She brought him peace and joy. She was his safe space, and in her presence, you saw the softest, most tender side of him.

Growing up, JT kept everyone laughing. He was playful and full of life. Whether it was cracking jokes, dancing around, or making everything into a competition, he had a way of lighting up every moment. He brought joy with him wherever he went. Those memories are filled with laughter, love, and happiness and they’ll be cherished forever.

On April 7, 2025, Jaylen Morton Taylor departed this life. He leaves to cherish his memory his father, Jeffery Taylor; sisters, Aubrey Burchett and Erion Sneed; daughter, Elayna Sky Taylor; and a host family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Tareace Burchett.

Jaylen was more than his roles. He was a light, a protector, a father, a brother, a son, and a true friend. His legacy lives on in the love he gave, the lives he touched, and the memories we carry in our hearts. His spirit will forever be with us.

We love you, JT. Always and forever.
