James Earl Thompson, Jr., 45, of Louisville departed this life on Tuesday, January 28, 2025.
Visitation 11-1 Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Community Missionary Baptist Church 4909 E. Indian Trail. Funeral to follow at 1pm. Burial Petersburg-Newburg Cemetery.
James Earl Thompson, Jr., was born in Louisville, Kentucky, on June 30, 1979, to the late James E. Thompson, Sr., and Veronica Pearson Thompson.
At a young age, he was baptized at Victory Baptist Church; later, he attended Burnett Avenue Baptist church with his momma. James was a true believer in Christ Jesus.
He attended Jefferson County public Schools, where he graduated from Fern Creek High School. Family and friends enjoyed being around James. He brought life to family events and parties as well.
“Jamie”, as he was always called by those who knew him well, was a loving young man with exceptional skills when it came to cooking and grilling; both were his passions so much so that he worked various jobs as a cook in the restaurant field.
On Tuesday, January 28, James Earl Thompson, Jr. departed this life. “Jamie” was a loving son, brother, and father. He leaves behind to mourn his passing: sons, James III, Jayden, Jacob, Jalon; daughter, Rayner; mother, Veronica Thompson; brothers, Dion, John, Delvin Pearson; sister, Dina Miller, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and so many friends.
“Death is not the greater loss in life.
The greatest loss is what dies inside while still alive.
