February 15, 1945 - August 10, 2024

Ida Belle Green, 79, of Louisville transitioned on Saturday August 10, 2024 at Hosparus Inpatient Unit.

Visitation 1- 2 Friday, August 23, 2024 at W.T. Shumake & Daughters Funeral Home 3815 Newburg Road. Funeral to follow at 2pm.

Ida Belle McElroy Green was born February 15, 1945 in Louisville, Kentucky to proud parent Lila McElroy. She was raised in a family of eight children, in the West End. Later she moved to the Newburg Area and attended Seneca High School.

Ida was married to Charles Miller Green, and four children were born to this union (three daughters and one son). Charles Green, Jr. ( the only son), died at an early age.

Ida was employed at Holiday Inn for 17 years, and also as a Dietary Assistant at a Nursing Home.

For leisure, Ida entertained herself by working Seek & Find Puzzles. She would work these puzzles for hours and hours on end. Wherever she went, she had her Seek & Find books with her.
Ida loved to cook. Her Potato Salad was the "bomb". And her fried chicken was "finger licking good". No one could fry chicken like Momma. It could not be duplicated.

Traveling to Florida often was in Ida's blood. She would get in the back seat of the car and enjoy long rides. She didn't care where the car was going, as long as she was one of the passengers in the car. She'd go anywhere the car would take her.

Sadly, on Saturday, August 10, 2024, Ida Belle Green was called home. She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Sheila Harris and Diana Green; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Miller Green; son, Charles Green, Jr.; and daughter, Beverly Green.
