Coy Dimetrius Girton, Sr., 51, of Louisville transitioned on Sunday, October 20, 2024.

Visitation 10-12 Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at Community Missionary Baptist Church 4909 E. Indian Trail. Funeral to follow at 12. Burial Petersburg Newburg Cemetery.

Coy Dimetrius Girton, Sr. was born June 8, 1973, to Gwen Girton and Coy Bishop Jr. He
lived all his life in Louisville, Kentucky.

Coy accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He loved the Lord and would
spend time daily reading his Bible. His greatest joy was his children and grandchildren. He
loved his family and enjoyed family cookouts. He also loved telling others about his children
and engaging in fun activities with them like going to amusement parks.

Coy was an avid sports fan who loved the University of Louisville Cardinals, LA Lakers, and
San Francisco 49ers. Cooking was one of his many known talents and he often cooked for his
family and friends.

Coy made his transition to his Heavenly Father on October 20, 2024. He was proceeded in death by his son, Coy Girton Jr, his grandparents and one uncle. He is survived by his children; three daughters, Brittany, Angela, and Shacoya Girton, all of Louisville, KY; four sons, Ashanti Burgess, Jicorey, Coyleone, and Coby Girton, all of Louisville, KY; his mother, Gwen “Porky” Girton of Louisville, KY ; his father, Coy Bishop Jr. of Martinville, VA; one sister, Angela Girton(Deon Barbee) , two brothers; Andre (Linda) Girton and Corey Girton all of Louisville, KY; 10 grandchildren as well as a host of paternal brothers and sisters, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
