Christa Lynn Dailidonis Sykes, 49, of Louisville, transitioned on Monday, January 15, 2024

Christa Lynn Dailidonis Sykes was born November 25, 1974, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the proud parents of Robert Paul and Marie Elaine Worth Dailidonis. She was the older of their two children. Her education began in the Bullitt County School District where Christa attended Maryville Elementary School. Then she transferred to Martin Luther Private School and concluded her required years of education by graduating from North Bullitt High School. Following graduation, Christa worked for KFC and Walmart. Her longest employment was with the United States Post Office where she was employed for sixteen years before her retirement.

She began her Christian journey when she joined Peace Lutheran Church where her family also attended. Christa never met a stranger and enjoyed being around people. It was in 2009 that Sylvester Sykes came into her life, and they immediately hit it off so well that by February 2010 Christa and Sylvester were married. Together their blended family included Ailene, Sylvester III, Dominic, Kiara, Andrew, Anthony, La-Tricia, and the family dog, JoJo.



Christa was a kind and giving person who spoke her mind when necessary. She enjoyed watching the television shows “Lifetime Murder Mysteries” and “Big Brother”; preparing her famous lasagna entrée; supporting the U of L Cardinals; and feeding her squirrels, birds, and other animals that nested in the yard. Whenever she had an opportunity to travel, the beach was her favorite destination.

Although faced with health issues, Christa was an inspiration to all. On Monday, January 15, 2024, Christa Lynn Dailidonis Skyes departed this life. She leaves to cherish their memories of her: husband, Sylvester Sykes; children, Ailene, Sylvester III, Dominic, Kiara, Andrew, Anthony, and La-Tricia; father, Robert Paul Dalidonis; brother, Michael Paul Dailidonis; ten grandchildren; two daughters-in-law, Lisa Miller and Brittney Miller; and a host of relatives and friends.
